I started
Right Hand Pointing in response to a
fever. Hotter than a pepper sprout.
It wasn't in Jackson--it was in Birmingham,
a somewhat similarly situated southern USA
city. I sent out an announcement
about it to a couple of thousand people who play
the Irish tinwhistle.
(It's a long story.) A couple of those
people were writers who submitted and then
encouraged a few others to submit and,
surprisingly quickly I had enough material to
put up what I thought was a solid first issue, "Pilot."
Comes now our second issue,
"C-Cell." This issue features our
first gallery of visual art, a set of lovely
collages by Carolyn
Adams, a number of poems I enjoyed
reading, and a fine and pleasantly enigmatic
short story about birds and relationships.
Incidentally, in keeping
with our target audience of those with short attention span, my
hope is to publish short issues that include
short pieces, with relatively short intervals
between issues. For those of you now
wondering, I am 5' 9" tall. Maybe 5' 8
1/2". Ok, more likely 5'8".
I'd like to call special
attention to "Glory Wings" by Darrell B. Grayson and
also call your attention to his bio. Learn
what you will from the poem and the bio.
I hope you enjoy this issue.
