  Epistemology With Cat

Brent Powers

Irene kicked the door down and thumped into her apartment. The walls were bare. The floors were bare. The windows were bare. Fuck 'em. She sat down hard on the sleeping bag and smoked.

There was a cat staring at her from way across the room. She hated the cat. Only a god who did math would come up with such a cat.

She blew smoke rings at him. She asked him to explain himself.

She said, "You know how you are? Well, stop."
