The beer at 11:07 leads to the bathroom trip at 12:36. Unlike their
products, infomercials never break. Yet between every inhale, every
exhale: a pause. Cells tear themselves in two while I sit after I turn
off the TV and before I get out of the chair. It's hard to think "I'm
blinking" while blinking: the mind needs that blink. The body tunes
its dial tone. The high pressure front downshifts as smoothly as a
Formula One driver into the low pressure of morning. But only sleep
changes today into tomorrow.
