drug monkey

three Ecuadorian cops boarded our bus
in the middle of the night.

they were quietly searching bags when I
noticed that a grey-white monkey the size
of a kitten was collared and leashed
to one of the men’s arms.

I woke John up so he could see it and
when he saw it his mouth and eyes
opened wide.  he then reached out to touch it
as it passed (it was his goal to touch a monkey
while in Ecuador) and he did, and it was very
funny in a situation that was not.

luckily the cop only gave us some serious
eyes and said, “no puedes tocar mas!”

John asked the pretty local woman who
smelt like roses if it was a “drugos”
monkey and she said “Si, si!”

and that’s the story of
the drug monkey.

yes, they do exist.
