If I may, let me just indicate
that I really enjoy editing the poetry in Right Hand Pointing,
with the magnificent F. John Sharp working the fiction desk. One of the great
pleasures is getting to know the work of some fine writers and
artists and being able to show it to others. Some of my favorite
poets are now people I consider friends.
One learns when editing a journal
that there are certain names that pop into one’s inbox now and then
that almost always means one is in for a good read. On that
criterion, I contacted three authors who have contributed to a few
previous issues of RHP and whose work always grabs my attention,
whether I end up taking the poems or not. I asked them to submit
poems for this special issue.
I have recently been weirdly
preoccupied with the number
6. (link,
link) and I’m unable to say why. Maybe
Zoloft would knock that out But, in keeping with this
obsession, I decided to present 3 sets of 6 poems each by 3 authors.
Corey Mesler, Rich Murphy, and Eric Burke stepped up and
enthusiastically ponied up the poems presented here. I thank them
for their participation and for continuing to make splendid art.
Here’s 6x3.
